Center Celebrates Program Success

The South County Resource Center in Tri-City is celebrating a success. We served over 230 free lunches to children living in Southern Douglas County. We would like thank Staples, Tri-City Flowers, Mercy Foundation and UCAN for their generous donations for craft supplies and other support this summer. We would also like to thank our dedicated volunteer, Penny Clark.

From June 30-August 7 we served free lunches to the children of South County prepared by Sunny Slope School. After lunch the children participated in crafts, games and reading with our volunteers.

Nurse Mary and friends from Mercy Foundation visited once a week for special health and nutrition lessons. Our appreciation goes out to our AmeriCorps Vistas, Lindsey Adkisson, Abigail Cooper, and Spring Sykes for creating and sustaining this wonderful program!
